Excise constable

The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board invites application for the post of Excise Constable (including lady Excise Constable) in the subordinate Excise Service.

Age Eligibility

The applicant must not be less than 18 years old and must not be more than 27 years old as on advertisement release date. The upper age limit shall be relaxed for the SC/ST candidates of West Bengal only by 5 years and OBC candidates of West Bengal only by 3 years.

Education Qualification

The applicant must have passed Madhyamik Examination from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent having Bengali/ Nepali as a language paper of or above the Madhyamik level.

The competence of a candidate in Bengali/Nepali language will be tested at the Preliminary Written test

 

Method of Recruitment

  1. Preliminary Written Test (Full marks 100)

Applicants provisionally considered eligible will have to appear in an MCQ based preliminary written test which is qualifying in nature. There would be 100 objective type questions on Test of language (Bengali/Nepali) and General Awareness & Reasoning. There will be negative marking for each wrong answer.

  1. Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Male candidates for the post of Excise Constable: Long distance run-1600 metres in maximum 6 minutes 30 seconds.

Female candidates for the post of Excise Constable: Long distance run-400 metres in maximum two minutes.

  1. Final Written Test (Full Marks 90)

All the candidates who qualify in the Physical Measurement Test & Physical Efficiency Test will be called to appear in the final written test to be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.

The Final Written Test will have 90 multiple choice objective type questions on General Awareness & general Knowledge (30 marks), English (30 marks), Elementary Mathematics (20 marks), Reasoning (10 marks). There will be negative marking for each wrong answer.

Pay Scale

Pay Scale o Rs. 5400-25200 (Pay Band 2), plus Grade pay 2600.
